Here's how to erase all data on the SD / memory card of your Galaxy S7 / S7 edge.
Formatting permanently erases all data on the SD / memory card.
To perform the steps below, ensure the SD / memory card is inserted.
  1. Ensure your smartphone isn't connected to a computer via the USB cable.
  2. Open the
    Settings app

  3. Navigate:
    Device maintenance
    Storage
    .
  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon then tap
    Storage settings
    .
  5. From the Portable storage section, select the name of the SD / Memory Card.
    The name varies depending upon the type of card used.
  6. Tap
    Format
    .
  7. Review the disclaimer then tap
    FORMAT
