Troubleshoot your device

Here's how to activate a new device on the Verizon network if you already have an active account.
  1. If you're switching from an iPhone®, ensure iMessage is turned off by navigating:
    Settings
    Messages
    iMessage
    .
  2. Save contacts and content on your old phone using the Content Transfer Center.
  3. Power both phones down.
  4. If necessary, insert the SIM card into the new Android phone.
  5. Power on the new phone then follow the on-screen prompts to complete activation and setup.
  6. Restore your content to the new phone using the Content Transfer Center.

    If you use iCloud or iTunes, you can transfer content, sync contacts or sync media.
